Mission

I develop methodologies to help UHNW families identify and target opportunities for creating positive impact, in a way that aligns with their values. I also develop frameworks for tracking the impact that they make through their engagement with Itriom.

Herb divides his time between London and Belfast where he works with individuals and organisations in developing strategies and frameworks for assessing and measuring their sustainability and ESG performance. Measurement being key to maximising impact.

About

Since 2000, Herb has worked across diverse sectors developing methodologies and frameworks for robustly managing, measuring and assessing sustainability/ESG performance.

This has included developing sustainability/ESG strategies, measurement frameworks and data collection frameworks.

In addition to his specific expertise in sustainability/ESG, Herb also has a strong interest in data analyses, and in particular, its application for measuring and reporting sustainability performance.

Over 20 years experience supporting organisations across diverse sectors, in developing sustainability and ESG strategies, and in monitoring and measuring their impact.

Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) in sustainability assessment from Loughborough University, United Kingdom (2004).

The key output of my Ph.D was ELASTIC, which was a novel framework, underpinned by multicriteria decision analysis, for context-specific measurement and assessment of sustainability in the transport sector that incorporated stakeholder input.

Published widely on the topic of sustainability measurement in peer-reviewed journals (see examples below).
